Do you RT yourself?
Just wondering if you have ever RT your own tweet at a different time and if this is a good practice or if you frown upon tweeters who do this? I did this for the first time today and here is my logic:
the original tweet was sent late at night earlier in the week so I thought it might get noticed by a larger (and different) twitter audience if I sent it during the work day. Agree or Disagree? Feedback welcome.

I've personally never retweeted myself. If I had something I wanted to repeat, I would just simply repost it. Literally RT'ing it might make you seem presumptuous. IMHO, there's a rash of inappropriate RT'ing going on, anyway. but that's just me.

I do not RT myself but I do RT @YourBrandRadio about the upcoming show (once/week). So from that standpoint, I guess I do :)

I generally do not re-tweet my post unless I am promoting a local event. If you are trying to reach a larger audience who may not be actively following you, RTing makes sense.
Twitter is a microblog of sorts and like traditional blogging, people will find your content if it enhances their lives in some way. I tweet with the assumption that people who are engaged in what I am doing will stop by my page and read through my recent tweets if they are really interested. Everyone is different, so RTing yourself may be useful to the people who are following you.
On the flip side, if someone visits your page and sees repetitive retweeting of the same post in a 24 hour period, they may question your motives if they don't know you.
Tweetlater allows you to schedule your tweets so that may be a useful tool for what you are trying to accomplish. Just food for thought...

Thanks for all the honest and thoughtful replies. Had a few DM's also. Overall, I think most agree not to officially RT yourself (which thank goodness, I didn't). I simply sent the same tweet out again about two days later as I thought maybe I'd reach a larger audience. All good logic. Let's keep these discussions going, I like learning and sharing. I think a favorite reply was, @Eric Canaday can you RT what you RT about the discussion on RT? Or something like that!~ Humor works!
